Allegiant Manufacturing Logo

As of January 1st,2023 the company formerly known as Bennett Tool & Die will be changing its name to Allegiant Manufacturing.

To explain why we chose to change our name in our 77th year, it may be useful to review the history of the company.

Bennett Tool & Die traces its roots back to four companies. The original Bennett Tool & Die was established in 1951 in Nashville, TN by Edward and Martha Bennett. The company operated as a small tool & die shop for the first two decades eventually adding stamping, CNC machining, robotic welding, and value-added assembly processes before selling the company to the current ownership group in 2013.

In 2015 Bennett acquired A&E Custom Manufacturing in Kansas City, KS. A&E began in 1959 and, like Bennett, started as a tool & die shop eventually adding stamping and developing into a metal fabrication job shop in the 1980s.

In 2017, Bennett acquired Hurst Tool & Stamping. Hurst was established in 1984 as a tooling and precision machining shop. In 2011 Hurst had acquired Knoxville Stamping & Assembly, a 2006 startup.

Bennett, like many companies has grown its footprint by acquisition.  Each acquisition and each team member have brought unique capabilities, experiences, knowledge, and creativity that have made our company stronger. We still have active employees whose employment started with each of our root companies. But we are not four companies, we are one company, and we have become more than the sum of our parts.

While we honor our past, we are a company looking to the future. We felt it was the right time to change our name to one that more closely aligns with the company we are striving to become and encompasses our focus for the future.

Why Allegiant Manufacturing?

The first word in our name is Allegiant. It is aspirational for us.  Definition of “allegiant”: adj. adhering firmly and devotedly, as to a person, a cause, or a duty: constant, faithful, fast, firm, liege, loyal, staunch, steadfast, true.

We strive to be devoted, dependable and steadfast. We consider our duty to our customers, our employees, and our communities as our primary mission.

While tool & die is still an integral part of our business, it doesn’t define us. Allegiant is a manufacturing company with multiple locations and a comprehensive array of services and manufacturing solutions.
